There are several resources you can use to make Libraries-licensed course material and digital collections more accessible.
Use Ally for eLC to check articles and files in eLC. Ally will typically provide an accessibility score and identify areas for improvement.
For other, non-eLC content, ask your department's IT unit, which may also have access to Ally for Web.
If possible, we recommend you link directly to the article or ebook content instead of hosting a scanned PDF.
As an alternative, you can use SensusAccess to convert the file to another more accessible format. If you convert to a .docx file, you can run Microsoft Word's Check Accessibility tool to fix remaining issues, e.g., image tags, color contrast.
Note that SensusAccess has some limitations and works best as a starting point rather than a complete fix. It may also alter or lose some of the original formatting, so you may want to provide both the original and the converted files.
