If you can't find a journal article online or in print at the UGA libraries or can't find a book in UGA's GIL Catalog, you can place an interlibrary loan request.
Log into interlibrary loan here using your MyID credentials.
The first time you use this system, you will be asked for some basic information such as your address and department. Fill out this form and continue.
Choose your request type. You have two request type options:
- Loan request
- for books, theses, dissertations, microform, videos, DVDs, CDs, and other whole works.
- Article request
- for journal articles, newpaper/magazine articles, book chapters, and other parts of a whole work.
Enter the citation information that you have on the request page. You do not have to fill in every box, but make sure there's enough information for the interlibrary loan staff to find your item.
Please note that journals are rarely lent; we obtain copies of articles instead. We also do not borrow textbooks for classes, obtain copies of chapters from textbooks, or borrow video materials. We generally cannot obtain genealogical research material.
That's it! We will notify you when the item is in.
